How to navigate our website

In this section you can learn more about the history of NDEO and its relationship with the field of Dance Education. You can also read about our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access initiatives, including updates on our JDEI project and our Social Justice statements. In the ‘About’ section you can also learn more about our Priorities for Dance education. In addition to this, you can also learn about our Thank a Dance Teacher day, our Dance2050 program and our National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). In this section you will also find a direct link to this page - detailing how to best navigate our new website.

The membership section details everything you need to know about how to sign up for a new membership or how to get the most out of your existing membership. You can view member types and rates, and navigate your member dashboard (once logged in). All of your member dashboard options will be listed on the left hand panel of your screen. You can also browse our Membership Directory, Online Forums and view a list of current State Affiliates. We have also included information about our existing Scholarship and Awards programs in this section. If you are interested in learning more about what scholarships and awards we have available and any potential due dates you can visit this section for more information.

This is a place where you can get information quickly about what is going on right now with NDEO's programs, services, and upcoming deadlines. It is typically a summary of recently sent e-Blasts / emails.

Use this section to “CONNECT” with the field of dance education through your NDEO membership. Examples of things in this category include, accessing our Online Forums, learning more about our Special Interest Group (SIG) Virtual Meetings. You can also view our NDEO-Events Calendar, browse our College Dance Directory and Jobs Board. In this section you will also find information about our ongoing Mentorship Program, our Conferences, and Student opportunities.

The learn category is your access to various Professional Development opportunities offered by NDEO. Here you can learn more about and sign up for one of our Online Professional Development Institute (OPDI) courses, upcoming conferences and online webinars. You can also view our Dance Education Standards, access our online journals and blogs as well as learn more about our DELRdi, DELTA and RDE programs.

If you’re looking to get involved this is the section for you! Please note some of the opportunities listed in this section are time sensitive and others have rolling deadlines. If you are looking to get involved in a particular area but you do not see a specific “call” for volunteers please contact info@ndeo.org to find out about the program's status or visit the site again at another date in the future. This section includes prompts to virtually attend SIG meetings with fellow NDEO members, apply to present at upcoming conferences, submitting to write a blog for our Behind the Curtain Blog, as well as our online journals. You will also be able to learn more about getting involved with our Mentorship program, serving on a committee, running for a board position and applying for any active scholarship/award opportunities we have to offer.

If you are looking for a specific program by name you can use the “By Program” tab to easily navigate to that page. For example if you are looking for more information on Conference, you can toggle over to the “By Program” section and scroll down the left hand menu for “National Conference.” This will take you to the conference landing page for easy access! All of our major programs and services are listed in this category for your convenience.

With the help of our Advocacy Committee we have compiled some resources for members to access. You can use this section to read about how NDEO Advocates, and how you can advocate.
