2025 Call for Affinity Groups

In 2022 NDEO launched Affinity Groups as part of an organizational commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and justice. Affinity Groups are member-driven and member-led.

Affinity Groups are positioned around groups of people who have experienced historical discrimination including, but not exclusive to racist, sexist, xenophobic or able-bodied stereotypes, systemic bias such as housing, access to healthcare, and education, and other forms of livelihood and employment discrimination, and violence. Affinity Groups must respect the humanity of all people, regardless of their age, gender, gender expression, sex, national origin, documentation status, ability, color, class, source of income, religion, ethnicity, race or sexuality. The purpose of the Affinity Groups is to come together to share experiences and work towards equal participation and rights in society.

If you are a part of an identity group that would benefit from forming an affinity group, please use the following form to indicate your interest. You must be an NDEO member to join an Affinity Group!

Current Established Affinity Groups:

  • Black Dance Educators
  • LGBTQIA+ Dance Educators
  • Disabled Dancers and Educators

If you would like to join any of the existing groups, please email membership@ndeo.org to get connected.
