July 22-26, 2019 / Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Room: OSL 101
Monica Dale, instructor

For dancers and musicians alike, MusiKinesis® connects sound and movement to enrich teaching and performance. Monica Dale, a nationally-recognized Dalcroze teacher, developed MusiKinesis® as a Dalcroze-based approach that is contemporary, applicable and inclusive. Dancers will discover rhythmic principles, teaching techniques and creative ideas for the studio to bring new consciousness of movement’s relationship to sound, from barre to stage. Musicians will experience structural and aesthetic elements of music in a physical way to develop a stronger mind-body connection, improve musical precision and accuracy, and attain more freedom of expression. As an active, interdisciplinary experience, the week provides lasting inspiration.

Open to collegiate and adult students. Teachers and performers of either dance or music are welcome; experience in both arts is not required. Enrollment limited to 12 students.
