Behind the Curtain

Partnering with Dizzy Feet

Hello all,

It has been a few weeks since our Miami conference, and I have been inundated with such
wonderful feedback. The accolades have come through phone calls, emails, our conference
surveys, and one that stands out to me came directly from the office of Nigel Lythgoe. Since
Mr. Lythgoe announced a partnership with NDEO, I have heard nothing but positive remarks
about our organization and membership. As many of you know, Mr. Lythgoe has pledged to
support dance educators in their mission to train up the next generation of dancers. As he
remarked, TV shows such as "So You Think You Can Dance," "Dancing With the Stars," and
"America's Next Dance Crew" will not be around forever, and it is our job to look into the future
and support dance education from the ground up. I stood next to him, when he made this
announcement at our Opening Reception on Wednesday night. It was such a joy to see your
faces light up in response to his generous gift! Mr. Lythgoe is the co-founder of the Dizzy Feet
Foundation along with Adam Shankman, among others to help underprivileged young people
realize their dream of becoming professional dancers and to support, improve, and increase
access to dance education in the United States. Be sure to check out their web site. We are
greatly looking forward to working with Dizzy Feet!
