The National Dance Education Organization envisions a nation that affords every citizen equal access and opportunity to quality dance arts education regardless of gender, age, race or culture, socio-economic status, ability or interest.
NDEO members are diverse in age, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, ethnicity, and live in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and throughout the international community.
Held annually in the fall, a typical in-person NDEO National Conference includes 3 full days of over 250 workshops, master classes, panel and paper presentations, social events and performances.
NDEO's Online Professional Development Institute (OPDI)™ offers online dance education courses featuring pedagogy, teaching methods, history, assessments, research and much more.
The National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) recognizes outstanding dance students for their artistic merit, leadership, academic achievement, and helps institutions promote their dance programs.

"I joined NDEO in order to connect to other dance educators throughout the nation. I often felt like such an island, alone in my practice. I am so thankful for NDEO for providing the opportunity for dance educators to inspire, share, and learn from one another as well as lead us through programs such as Love Your Body Week, Dance a Difference, and Thank a Dance Teacher Day."
“NDEO offers so much information and helpful resources. There is a global collaboration and communications among international members. I like the online discussions and blogs, as well as the conferences and journals. These important resources help me find updated information in the field. I'm working on NDEO’s E-Communications committee and enjoy sharing dance education content."
"I encourage my dancers to attend college, and find a program that fits their unique situation and aspirations. NDEO is an excellent resource for promoting healthy dancing, finding the right college program, building community, and everything in between. As both my school and my students are young, I look forward to discovering all NDEO has to offer over the coming years."
