The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) advances dance education centered in the arts. We are the voice of representation for the field in legislatures, schools of dance, PreK-12 schools, and institutions of higher learning throughout the country. As a non-profit organization, NDEO is dedicated to the development and promotion of quality education in the art of dance through professional development, service, and leadership. We hold public discussions, sponsor institutes, workshops, conferences and programs. NDEO has forged alliances with approximately 150 federal and state agencies and arts associations in support of dance arts education.

NDEO offers an Institutional Membership to colleges and universities, professional preparation programs, and K-12 public, magnet, and performing arts schools. NDEO nurtures students as they are the future of the field. We initiate programs to better serve them and our institutional members. As an institutional member, you may take full advantage of our student programs.

First, if your institution has 12 or more students joining NDEO at one time, we offer a bulk membership in which students pay only $15 instead of the regular $25 student membership. All information from national office is sent directly to a designated faculty contact for dissemination down-line to students. Savings are passed on to your students so they are encouraged to get involved in the field and in a professional association now rather than later, or not at all.

Second, as an Institutional Member, your dance students may attend NDEO's national conference for only $10. The "Focus on Dance Education: Dance Among the Arts" conference will be held April 19-23, 2001 in Minneapolis, MN. The $10 conference fee entitles your students to attend all conference sessions -- lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and general sessions. If your students wish, they may include additional events selected from an "a la carte" menu.

Third, NDEO offers outstanding opportunities for student internships. Interns utilize our vast networks of federal and state agencies, national partnerships, latest research and publications, and human resources at national, state, and local levels to further their professional goals. It is a rare opportunity to study dance arts education in the United States. You might consider this program for an outstanding candidate.

Please help your students utilize these important resources by joining as an Institutional Member. Enclosed is information on the NDEO and our upcoming conference, and an application for membership. We encourage you to consider Institutional Membership so that you may make NDEO services available to your students.

More information about membership can be found on our membership page.
