State Affiliates
| |
NDEO has worked several years to develop a network of State Affiliate organizations to provide long-term benefits to both the national and state organizations as they seek to unite and strengthen dance education in the United States. This network supports individual and collective efforts of dance educators, artists, choreographers, administrators, researchers, and business owners working in dance in diverse artistic and educational environments across the country.
NDEO's State Affiliate Network is currently made up of thirteen state organizations, representing the following states: AZ, CA, FL, MA, MO, MI, NJ, NY, RI, SC, UT, WA and MD/VA/DC.

States that wish to establish a State Affiliate of NDEO should download the State Affiliate Guidelines and call the NDEO office to discuss further. Membership dues are collected by the national office and forwarded to the state. States have 24-7 access to an online e-database with member information. NDEO sends out monthly renewal notices, monthly acknowledgement letters of membership, and tracks new, renewed, and lapsed members for the state. These services provide infrastructure to states and are welcome by most states. State Affiliates hold their own state conferences, elect a delegate to represent them on the NDEO Board of Directors, and can establish a state National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). All national benefits are passed on to State Affiliate members.
