Why Dance?: NDEO Needs Your Stories!
Author Last Post

Dear Members,

We have a question for you: Why does dance education matter?

NDEO needs YOUR help to gather personal stories about the benefits of dance education for use in promotional, fundraising, and advocacy materials related to our Decade of Dance Education (2015-2025) campaign. We are interested in interviewing dance teachers, current dance students, and former dancers about the impact of dance in their lives, schools, and communities. Selected testimonies will be used to help us strengthen the case for dance education with potential funders, administrators, officials, and other important parties as we continue our work to advance dance education through 2025 and beyond.

If you’d like to be interviewed for this campaign, please email Shannon Dooling-Cain at no later than Friday, September 28, 2017. Most interviews will be conducted by email; if you'd prefer to speak by phone that can also be arranged. If your story is selected, you could be featured in NDEO digital, social media, and print promotional and fundraising campaigns.

If you have a current or former student with a compelling story about the transformative power of dance to share, please invite them to participate as well! (Parental permission forms will need to be submitted by any participant under age 18.) Current or former students do not need to be NDEO members to be interviewed for this campaign.

As always, thank you for your support of NDEO!
